Sound Explorer is a program that allows the user to listen to various sounds encountered in the daily life by simply clicking the image shown in the screen. The program is targeted at improving the sound perception of hearing impaired people who has hearing aid and/or cochlear implants. The program can also be used for children to learn the association between sound and events (such as words, image, or event). The program is initially developed in 2012 by Inconvenient Solutions, the mobile division of TigerSpeech Technology Inc. and Emily Fu Foundation, which is devoted to develop innovative speech software for hearing impaired and children to facilitate the learning of sounds. The program contains hundreds of sounds from several categories, including environmental sounds, the name of common foods, the name of familiar animals, music instruments and notes, alphabet and numbers, and different colors. Sound Explorer is suitable for anyone who want to improve the sound perception or simply to enjoy listening to all kinds of sounds, including environmental sounds and music.
